Summer Time Is Here(almost lol): Time To Usher In Some New Produts

Hey, guys!

I have just recently returned from sunny Atlanta, and I had such a great time. I always have a great time with my boyfriend and his family, but this time was super relaxing. While I was down in Atlanta I tried to be a productive YouTuber and upload videos, but that backfired, and I wasn’t able to upload. This empties video is what I planned to upload in ATL, but it is going up now. Hopefully, I will be back on my schedule of two videos a week for the rest of the summer (fingers crossed)

I am currently taking summer school classes. Despite summer school, I have many exciting things planned for Zen HairLife this summer including ZIYs, Art projects, home decor, gardening, and I will be doing several new hair videos!
I can’t wait for all of the new things it is going to be awesome! STAY TUNED

Salute To Summer + July Favorites!

Hello friends. Sadly my summer is coming to an end and I thought I would show you some of the products I have loved. Even though this is a July favorites I have been using all of these products religiously throughout the entire summer. I have had such a great summer with family and friends hanging by the pool going on adventures and just enjoying the moment. I know this school year is going to be amazing but a lot of work and diligence at the same time. There are so many exciting things coming for my YouTube and blog I cant wait to clue you guys in on those things. Another super exciting thing that is coming up is my BIRTHDAY!!!! On September 29th. My 21st to be exact I am very excited as you can imagine. Anywho all of my favorites all have a theme of moisture for the most part. Skin by Ann Webb Face and Body Cream is my new favorite face moisturizer. What I love about it is that even though it is very thick it just melts into my skin. It leave no greasy of clogged feeling which is always great! My new favorite fragrance is the Zara chocolate scent. I have had this really awesome idea to take my favorite perfumes and recreate the scents with natural oils and fragrances. Let me know what you guys think of that and if you have any tips to help me accomplish this project of if you think it’s a good idea! Anywho those were just a couple of the things I’ve loved this summer and there are a lot of other cool things that I talk about in the video. I hope you guys have had an amazing summer and that you finish it off with a bang.

MEGA HAUL… I Must Tell You More

I really never do hauls but I seemed to accumulate a pretty good number of things of the last 2 months or so. I have several product in this haul are really like stand out products that I love and will definitely be doing more in depth reviews and videos of. I do have to say that I really really do not like the curling soufflé stuff by shea moisture I just really really dislike it. I don’t know if it is because of the way I used it or what but it is just terrible (sorry if you like this stuff) on second day hair it seriously felt like I had honey and melted candy all over my hair it was so sticky and it did not leave my hair shiny, and it certainly did not leave my hair moisturized. I used it with the curl and style milk also from shea moisture and from the same exact line…. I was not pleased. I do not enjoy the curl and style milk either it does nothing for my hair. I still really like the curl enhancing smoothie so don’t worry I’m not going anti shea moisture. On the other hand I have fallen in love with coconut oil. I talk briefly in the video about how I used to hate on this stuff but I feel like when I first tried it way back when I first cut my hair I either didn’t know how to use it or it just didn’t respond well to my hair, but now I love it and you will definitely be seeing more about that in the future. I also really love the as I am coconut cowash; this stuff is great and has pretty much revolutionized the washing process for me. I am telling you if you have curly hair or even if you have relaxed or straight hair I am telling you try this stuff it’s amazing it seriously cleans your hair like a shampoo but doesn’t leave it feeling like straw this stuff is so great. On a non-hair note I talked about the royal apothic, royal carnation eau du parfum. Omg please find this parfum in an anthropologie near you, you will fall in love. My boyfriend got me this for Christmas and all I can do is smell it because I feel like if I wear it will go away too soon lol (melodramatic) but seriously its amazing such a nice warm scent (which I love) sultry scents are the best. Anywho before I talk about this parfum for days just go smell it and you will understand. Those are really the stand out things in the haul that I just had to say more about.
If you didn’t see the video go watch it right now! Lol
Until next time, LIVE A ZEN LIFE

A Recap of 2012 through my Hair.

2012 was an exciting year with a lot of changes. I started the year off with fresh new haircut, I Big Chopped (BCd) my hair in november of 2011, my hair was about four inchesImage long at that point after about a six month transition. Now I am a year in my journey of being fully natural and I am going to take you through the ups and downs of my first year of being natural. I feel like the number one most important thing about my journey so far was that I started off with a lot of information about Natural hair and what things were found to be good for the hair and which things were damaging, this helped tremendously. Unfortunately after I Big chopped I had a lot of heat damage from straightening early in my transition so I started off with a little hill to climb. I quickly realized that even though some pieces would bounce back the majority of the heat damaged pieces would have to be periodically clipped off. Finally I was free of all heat damage and I started to fall in love with my hair. At this point I starred to do some other styles like twist outs and braid outs and that was really fun, I was becoming more and more comfortable with myself. Having barely any hair really makes you appreciate yourself for who you are. Going flow was really the theme of my hair journey through 2012 because there were so many twists, turns, ups, anad downs that after a the first few snags(pun intended lol) I had no choice but to work with my hair not against it. Now my hair is amazing and I love it and I owe it all to patience and care. This is the best way to end off the year and start a new one by acknowadegeing the accoplishment from the year past. So before that ball drops or after congratulate yourself for another year. Now with only hours left of 2012 I say live it up and go with the flow, not only with your hair but everything in your life.

Happy New Year Stars!Image
